Pride in North Cumbria (PiNC) is a registered charity and seeks to appoint a part time qualified, experienced youth worker for a new 3-year Children in Need funded post ensuring the physical safety, emotional wellbeing, and positive relationships for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer, and Questioning young people engaging with the PiNC LGBT+ Youth project, based at LGBThq, Victoria Place, Carlisle.

 

You will be required to:

  • provide a safe supportive environment of peer support and relevant information to the young people
  • seek to bring new people to the group through outreach work at a wide number of venues
  • design, and deliver fun, social, and creative activities for young people
  • encourage the empowerment of young people and integrate their ideas in to the project
  • promote the safeguarding and welfare of young people
  • accurately monitor and record all sessions with the young people
  • have basic IT and social media skills to promote the project and engage with young people
  • line manage volunteers
  • report back to the management committee
