AWAZ English Language Support Volunteer Information Session

AWAZ Cumbria is looking for volunteers to provide English language support for individuals from ethnic minority groups. It might be helping:

  • An individual who feels isolated because they don’t have the confidence to speak English
  • A child struggling to keep up with the language in the classroom
  • A parent struggling to communicate with the school and other parents

County Volunteer Network Meeting

The session will take a look at how and why organisations should recognise, celebrate and appreciate the commitment of their volunteers. If volunteers feel appreciated, they are more likely to stay with an organisation and so this session will focus on the importance of acknowledging the contribution volunteers make to the organisation and the clients and how best to do this.
