Bedrock Basics Project is delighted to offer you and your organisation the opportunity to take part in “Personal Leadership in Non-Profit Organisations” development course.

Are you a leader* in a non-profit organisation that is delivering services in / to / for people and communities in west Cumbria? * A leader may be the manager of an organisation but may also be in other roles with the ability to influence change within the organisation.

Understanding of the current landscape of volunteering and what are the challenges they need to consider.

This event is open to the general public to come along and find out more about This Is Us Project and offers advice on support available.

Staff from Cumbria CVS’s This Is Us project will be available in Penrith library to talk to anyone who would like to find out more about what we do, or who would like to access some of the support we can provide.

You are invited to come along to the Furness For You – Lunch & Learn session hosted by Cumbria CVS.

This session aims to attract those that are feeling lonely, chronically isolated or anyone interested in finding out more about the Furness For You project and how it could help support you or someone you know. This event is open to the general public to come along, have some lunch and find out more about what’s on offer from the Furness For You project across the Barrow and Furness area and is funded by the Know Your Neighbourhood Fund.

This event provides a fantastic opportunity for local groups to directly engage (face to face) with local and national funders and support groups regarding projects/funding requirements.

Are you looking to volunteer to support a local group or organisation with their worthy cause and have a few hours to spare each week?. Then this event might be of interest to you. Come and visit, and see what is on offer from various organisations who are looking for help. You never know, you might find something of interest!

A 2.5 hour online facilitated reflection and consolidation workshop where participants will finalise their funding bid application based on the feedback received during the funding fair. This will also an opportunity to get some further peer support and extra  support and funding bid hints and tips from CVS facilitators. By the end of this session participants should have a finalised funding bid narrative.

This is a network meeting for Volunteer Managers in Cumbria or anyone who is responsible for recruiting, supporting or managing volunteers to come together to spread good practice in volunteer management.

This meeting will bring together Volunteer Managers in Cumbria to look at Inclusive Volunteering and in particular involving volunteers with mental health experiences, supported by Carlisle Eden Mind and Step Forward into Volunteering and Employment.

Cumbria CVS Volunteer Portal basic run-through session for organisations.

This in-person session is for any local organisation that would find it helpful to see a live demonstration of how to register on the Cumbria CVS Volunteer Portal and how to add on your volunteer opportunities. You will also be shown how to create a printable flyer of your opportunities from the Portal, how to share on social media and how to invite your existing volunteers onto the portal.

Our area is full of dedicated charities and community organisations who are doing vital work for the community. However, many can struggle to bring in enough volunteers and reach the people they hope to support.
