This year Ulverston MIND celebrates 30 years of providing mental health services in South Cumbria and, as part of our review to grow activity in the community, we are delighted to recruit to a new position – Community and Volunteer Engagement Officer.

Do you have bucket loads of enthusiasm, energy and charisma matched with evidence that you can meet targets and achieve outcomes? Are you passionate about working with others to develop mental health services that are relevant to people’s needs, inclusive and part of our communities? How would you feel about having the role of recruiting, leading and developing teams of volunteers to become a highly skilled and motivated workforce? The postholder will be responsible for all aspects of recruiting, training, leading, supporting and developing a highly skilled and motivated volunteer workforce that is representative of and relevant to the charity’s work across Ulverston MIND teams and projects. They will work collaboratively with project leads including Connecting Mums and Peer Support drop-in groups to initiate new projects and activities and identify and fill resource gaps through skilled volunteers. Working with the wider staff team will include participation in Ulverston MIND activities and projects that help nurture and develop community volunteers and meet project performance targets.
