Our vision is to be the first choice provider of supported housing for adults with a learning disability. To help us achieve this ambition we are looking for a values-driven and motivated individual to become our new Chair of the Board.

Fairoak Housing Association is a small Registered Provider based in Kendal with a committed Board and team of staff who share a passion and determination to transform the lives of people with a learning disability or autism by providing the highest quality housing and support services.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to make a positive difference to people’s lives. You will need to demonstrate strong leadership skills, the ability to think strategically and work collaboratively to ensure that the best interests of our customers remain central to everything we do.

Ideally, you will have chairing experience and knowledge of, or an interest in, the social housing sector or of other relevant organisations with similar charitable or social purposes. A good knowledge and understanding of the role of non-executive Board members is also essential.

There are 8 board meetings a year and you will need to be willing to commit the time and energy necessary to building relationships and supporting the business of the Association.
