Safeguarding Basics

This workshop is designed to raise awareness of the key issues relating to safeguarding for volunteers and staff working with children and vulnerable adults. By the end of this interactive workshop participants should be able to:

  • Explain what safeguarding means.
  • Identify 7 different types of abuse and their signs.
  • Describe how to respond if you suspect abuse.

We aim to make participants feel confident that they would know how to act if they suspect abuse. Please note that this is a basic, non-accredited workshop delivered in collaboration with Adult Learning Westmorland and Furness council.
