We are currently seeking to procure Specialist Support Providers to enhance the support offered to our project participants to ensure barriers to progression, equity, inclusion and participation are addressed.  We are looking for suitably experienced and qualified individuals, small groups or organisations from across Cumbria, but primarily in the Barrow in Furness and South Lakes areas, with a strong track record of working with and for and with the voluntary sector who can offer support to people from a wide range of backgrounds on a freelance basis. You must have a range of skills and abilities, including excellent communication and administration skills and be able to demonstrate a commitment to equality and diversity and anti-racist practice. You must be able to work safely and equitably in line with our project aims and relevant legislation; possess relevant insurances and have policies in place. For staff, a current DBS disclosure is required.

We are interested in the following:

  1. Health & Well-being Support – counselling, coaching, group work, workshops, activities to increase health and well-being, self-esteem, confidence and inclusion
  2. Training & Workshops – bespoke training and workshops designed and delivered to meet a range of needs including increased confidence, budgeting, healthy eating and employability skills
  3. Translation & Interpreting – ability to work with people where English is not their first language to enable progression, support inclusion, understand cultural difference, barriers faced and a strong understanding of anti-racism approaches
  4. Areas of Specialism – expertise working with minoritised communities, people with neurodiversity, disabilities to offer tailored support, advocacy to understand and address barriers and increase inclusion and participation
  5. Work Placements – short term, supported work placements for participants to build confidence, employability skills, and work experience
