HOURS: FT – 37 hrs
SALARY: £25,500-£29,000 with stakeholder pension +mileage allowance + health benefits + 25 days annual leave + Bank holidays + optional hybrid working
Cumbria Youth Alliance are seeking to appoint 1 Youth Outreach Link worker to work in partnership with DWP staff to identify and support a cohort of up to 24 16 – 24 year olds who live in Barrow/Millom/Ulverston and surrounding areas. You would be working in outreach locations to explore pathways into employment, further education or training.
Forging Futures project
- This role will be an integral part of the Forging Futures project. You will help develop and deliver a new engagement model. Focused on young people’s individual aspirations, removal of personal barriers inhibiting progress. Support with applications and development of core employability skills. Help forge and maintain networks with local businesses and partner organisations, with the view to identifying opportunities and supporting young people into sustainable employment/ training.
- You will have experience delivering to young people on a 1-1 basis, as well as in group activities. Have a knowledge of the local labour market and provision. You will be required to keep detailed records of engagement, session hours and contacts.
- You will work alongside colleagues and external evaluators to develop strong evaluation and reflection processes to ensure effective delivery and data capture to meet key performance indicators, while adhering to
Cumbria Youth Alliance core values. - You will receive ongoing training and support, participate in regular online and in person best practice workshops.
- You will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
- Equipment will be supplied to enable you to undertake your role (Mobile Phone, laptop and relevant software).
- A full clean UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle or reliable/consistent public transport is essential.
- This is currently a fixed term contract to 31st March 2026, with the possibility to extend depending on funding.
