Safeguarding Training for Community Organisations

This free training session is facilitated by Cumbria CVS and delivered by industry experts, People First.

Cumbria is home to a diverse range of community organisations that provide vital support to people in-need.

However, when providing support to potentially vulnerable people, we should be on the lookout for possible safeguarding issues, in order to protect vulnerable clients and volunteers from abuse.

Participants in this course will learn the essentials of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, including the different forms of abuse and how to spot them. This training will be key to the safe operation of community organisations in Cumbria.

People First is an industry leader in inspiring people to use their voice and standing shoulder to should with people through their most challenging times.

Lancashire and South Cumbria Director at People First, Lindsay Graham will lead this session, providing attendees a chance to reflect and contribute their own experiences, there will also be an opportunity to ask questions.

This session will run from 1pm until 4pm at the Beacon Portal in Whitehaven.
