Get on Board – Volunteer Trustee Recruitment Sessions

This Volunteer Trustee Recruitment Session is an informal but informative event for anyone interested in becoming a trustee or director for a local charity.
The session will bring together a range of organisations that are looking to recruit new trustees , directors or board members, e,g. general trustees, secretary, treasurer, chair, etc.
Organisations currently attending include:
Citizens Advice Copeland, Phoenix Enterprise Centre, Helping Hands, Citizens Advice Allerdale, Cumbria CVS, Whitehaven Egremont and District Credit Union, Citizens Advice Allerdale and Low Gillerthwaite Field Centre
By attending the event volunteers will find out more about what a trustee and board member is, the roles and responsibilities of trustees, skills and qualities needed to be a trustee, the range of trustee volunteering opportunities available, when and where volunteers are needed, training and support provided and how individuals can register and apply to become a Volunteer Trustee.
There will be an opportunity to meet local charities needing trustees and to hear from an existing trustee about the trustee role and the benefits of being a trustee both for individuals and local charities.
Anyone interested in becoming a trustee can chat informally to organisations around the room about the different trustee volunteering opportunities available and register their interest should they wish to become a trustee.
