Cumbria CVS/NCVO Members Assembly
July 7, 2021
Date: Wednesday 7th July 2021
Time: 9:30 am - 12:00 pm
NCVO run Members’ Assemblies to help them understand the challenges that voluntary organisations are facing, which in turn helps to inform all the work they do. The assemblies are great for members to network with each other, share ideas about current issues and talk directly to NCVO staff about how we can support them.
Likewise Cumbria CVS uses networks and events as a way of engaging with CVS members and the wider third sector on issues facing them and support required.
Cumbria CVS is co-hosting this Members’ Assembly with NCVO.

The Road Ahead
The Road Ahead is NCVO’s annual analysis of the changing operating environment for anyone working in the voluntary sector. It identifies and explains forces and trends that are shaping the sector and are likely to have an impact on organisations in the future.
At our Members’ Assembly, we’ll explore the findings of The Road Ahead 2021 report with voluntary organisations in Cumbria, and discuss the following.
- The key drivers shaping the sector in 2021: Political, economic, social, technological, environmental and legal
- What the findings of the report mean for voluntary organisations in Cumbria
- What organisations in Cumbria can do to prepare for the future.
You’ll have the opportunity to hear from local colleagues and Cumbria CVS on these issues, as well as contributing to the wider conversation and debate.
Covid-19 impact & recovery in Cumbria
Cumbria CVS, Cumbria Community Resilience Group, Cumbria Community Foundation, ACT and the Cumbria Funders’ Network recently conducted a survey in Cumbria to better understand and explore the impact of this pandemic on local voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise sector (VCFSE) organisations.
At this Members’ Assembly, we’ll present the key findings of this survey and explore the support and resources that your organisation may need to aid recovery. This, along with other feedback, will help inform the strategic priorities for Cumbria CVS, other local infrastructure partners and funders, as they look to support local communities to recover from this pandemic.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND THE EVENT?
This Members’ Assembly is aimed at staff and trustees from both NCVO and Cumbria CVS members in Cumbria. Non-member organisations are also very welcome.
