Building Better Opportunities Information Event

The Building Better Opportunities programme will provide around £5 million of funding over the next 6 years. It consists of funding from the Big Lottery Fund that will be matched with European funding. The programme is aimed at supporting people who are furthest from employment and who experience some of the most extreme disadvantage in Cumbria. So if you are a voluntary, community or social enterprise that supports these people, then this event is for you! We expect most of the work will be delivered in West Cumbria and Barrow but there may be some Carlisle based organisation who might fit the criteria.

The event will:

• Provide an overview of European Funding
  Highlight the priority areas of work for this programme
• Give an insight into the application process

It is anticipated that groups will need to work in collaboration within this new programme and therefore delegates will also take part in a facilitated workshop to discuss possible programme activities.
