Volunteers’ Week 2017

Volunteers’ Week is an annual event to celebrate the fantastic contribution that millions of volunteers make across the UK. The week plays a huge part in raising the profile of the millions of volunteers who regularly contribute to society, while inspiring others to get involved too.

As Cumbria CVS is always keen to raise the profile of volunteering, we have been busy using Volunteers’ Week to raise awareness of local volunteering opportunities and to try and help these organisations recruit new volunteers. Large Volunteering Fairs have been held in Kendal, Carlisle and Workington and the response has been amazing! We have had great turnouts at each event and we hope that this will result in the development of many successful relationships.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all organisations that attended and also say thank you to The Cumberland Building Society for supporting these valuable events.

Please remember it’s never too too late to say thank you to your own volunteers – this week or anytime! For ideas, tips and resources please visit:  http://volunteersweek.org/

So, Happy Volunteers’ Week to all the fantastic volunteers in Cumbria and a big thank you to all the amazing Volunteer Managers who manage and support these volunteers throughout the year.
