Participants from the BBO My Future project had the opportunity to attend an Introduction to Photography workshop, delivered by Signal Film & Media, Barrow In Furness, recently.

The purpose of the workshop was for participants to unleash their inner creativity whilst learning new skills in both an indoor and outdoor environment. The project wanted to implement an activity to help reduce social isolation, increase physical and mental wellbeing.

Attendees were asked if the workshop had enhanced their development in relation to confidence and self-esteem, with one participant saying “This activity has boosted my confidence hugely”.

A second project participant advised that by attending the session she felt more confident in trying new experiences.

Participants gained key skills during the workshop, including communication, time keeping, open-mindedness, and developing creativity  – which are all outcomes required from the Project’s Employability Matrix.

All attendees, and staff, found the workshop informative and it was enjoyed by all.
