JOB TITLE: Development Manager
CONTRACT: Initial 2 year contract
HOURS: 22.5 hours per week
LOCATION: Cumberland (West Cumbria)
RESPONSIBLE TO: Chief Operating Officer
PURPOSE OF JOB: The Development Manager is responsible for leading on growth of Carer Support West Cumbria, identifying service development possibilities through new funding streams, partnerships, and commissioning opportunities, raising the profile and extending the reach of its services in order to increase impact and where possible revenue.
DUTIES:
Leading on a Development Strategy for Carer Support West Cumbria ensuring its future sustainability, delivering excellent support to unpaid carers and extending the reach of services
Identifying, researching and developing new business opportunities, creating robust business cases and resource plans to support proposals
Gaining a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of Carer Support West Cumbria, other organisations working in the same and related areas and wider sector to identify new opportunities
Supporting the Chief Operating Officer in building relationships with unpaid carers, gauging their needs and developing proposals to address these
Supporting the Chief Operating Officer in managing and nurturing the ongoing relationships (existing and future) from 3rd Sector, Public Sector, and Business Sector to raise awareness and promote Carer Support West Cumbria within the region
Playing an active role in relevant networks and attending conferences and events on behalf of Carer Support West Cumbria to build relationships with sector partners and staying up to date with new trends
Collating and understanding data relevant to Carer Support West Cumbria and using it to develop services around carers needs and increasing income where possible
Conducting market analysis to pinpoint growth opportunities and lead the development of relevant business, products and services
Creating forecasts for reach and income and actively working towards achieving them
Researching, identifying new growth opportunities and draft applications, tenders, pitches and asks to appropriate funders/supporters, cultivating relationships and securing support to achieve defined targets
Designing and delivering reporting processes that are fit for purpose and satisfy funders’ and supporters’ requirements
Managing the Marketing Co-ordinator in accordance with Carer Support West Cumbria policies
To comply with all of Carer Support West Cumbria Policies and Procedures
Carrying out any additional relevant duties required by this post which may involve from time to
time working at evenings and weekends
