Volunteering Works- Volunteering Information Session – Carlisle- Organisations
November 19, 2024
Date: Tuesday 19th November 2024
Time: 10:30 am - 2:30 pm
Cumbria CVS is hosting and organising a Volunteering Works Session, aiming to encourage unemployed people to get involved in volunteering as a pathway into employment.
This session aims to attract anyone interested in finding out more about becoming a volunteer and local volunteering opportunities in Carlisle, but also to consider the third sector job opportunities.
This Volunteering Works – Volunteering Information Session in Carlisle will take place on Tuesday 19 November, 10.30am-2.30pm at Morton Community Centre, Wigton Road, Carlisle, CA2 6JP.
This face to face event will bring together a range of organisations that are looking to recruit new volunteers from Carlisle , but who may also have job opportunities too.
By attending the event volunteers will find out more about local organisations that are looking to recruit new volunteers, the wide range of local volunteering opportunities available, when and where volunteers are needed and how to become a volunteer.
We kindly ask that each organisation that attends to speak for around 10 minutes on what they organisation does and their volunteering opportunities. There will also be the opportunity for potential volunteers to ask questions to organisations so we anticipate each organisation having a 20 minute time slot. Cumbria CVS will allocate a set time so you just need to attend for your given time slot rather than the full event should you wish too.
Please do bring any posters, leaflets, information, and application forms to hand out to potential volunteers.
As part of this Volunteering Works Session we are also looking to organise Volunteer Taster Days following these workshops so if your organisation would like to be involved please state Y under the event booking form.
Closing date for bookings 27th September 2024 to allow time for publicity and promotion. Places will be confirmed after the closing date.
Priority bookings will go to CVS members and those organisations on the Volunteering Portal.
