Unlock the Power of Canva for Your Voluntary Organisation!

Unlock the potential of visual storytelling for your organisation with our comprehensive online Canva training.

Gain the skills to create impactful designs that effectively communicate your message and engage your audience. Our Canva training will teach you everything from basic design principles to understanding advanced features Canva offers. By the end of this course, you’ll be confident in creating eye-catching posters, engaging social media graphics, and impactful videos. The sessions will also give an overview of the Cumbria CVS Volunteering Portal and show you have to create a graphic to upload with your volunteering opportunity.

The course is made up of 4 sessions, free for VCSE and non-profits working in the Furness and Westmorland areas of Cumbria. If you would like to attend each session please book on to each one individually.

Session Overview:

Session 1 – Setting up Canva and Learning the tools

Wednesday 25th September 2 – 3.30pm

Participants will learn about the platform’s features, build confidence in using its tools, and understand how to establish and maintain a consistent brand identity within the platform.

Session 2 – How to create a volunteer recruitment poster

Wednesday 2nd October 2 – 3.30pm

Participants will learn how to create visually appealing posters using Canva, including understanding design elements, utilizing templates, and preparing the final design for printing.

Session 3 – How to create a graphic for social media and share it via the Cumbria CVS volunteering portal

Wednesday 9th October 2 – 3.30pm

Participants will learn to design images tailored to different platforms, integrate Canva with social media channels, ensure designs are accessible to all, and promote volunteer opportunities through the Cumbria CVS volunteering portal.

Session 4 – How to create and edit a short video in Canva for social media

Wednesday 16th October 10 – 11.30am

Participants will learn about video and audio editing tools, how to add captions and visual elements, and how to finalize and share their videos.

The Training is delivered online using Zoom.

For each session you will need:

· Computer or laptop with the ability to use Zoom

· A Canva pro account (free for not for profits)

· Internet

You don’t have to attend all 4 sessions, but we do encourage it if you can as each session build on previous knowledge gained.

Available for a maximum of 2 places per organisation.

We expect this training to have a high number of sign-ups so please do let us know well in advance if you will no longer be able to attend or if a delegate name needs to change.

This event is part of our This Is Us project, made possible by Westmorland and Furness Council through funding from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. Priority for bookings will be given to organisations in Westmorland and Furness which are Cumbria CVS Members.
