Putting principles into practice: Engaging with diverse communities in health & wellbeing research

Date:

Address:

Cumbria CVS, Voluntary Organisations’ Network North East (VONNE) and National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) partners in the North East & North Cumbria are hosting an event focused on involving communities in health & wellbeing research. Communities and community organisations play a key role in shaping health & wellbeing research and evaluation that really matters, and we want to support more voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations and the research community in our region to work successfully in partnership.

We invite VCSE organisations and researchers working in North Cumbria to join us to learn about a national set of principles to guide community engagement, and learn from some examples of VCSE research partnerships in practice. This event will build on a sister event, held in Newcastle, by assisting in the co-creation of a guide to support more sustainable, mutually beneficial partnerships for our region.

There will also be opportunity to learn about the new Evaluation Visualisation Design (EViD) tool developed at Lancaster University to support organisations to plan and deliver evaluations.

All experience is valuable to the event whether or not you are or have been involved in health & wellbeing research or evaluation.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided, and a payment will be made to all VCSE organisations who attend.

To register your interest in attending, please complete your details by visiting https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/putting-principles-into-practice-engaging-with-diverse-communities-tickets-715868079697.

Places for this event will be limited and are limited to two people per organisation.
