Basic principles in Good Practice in Volunteer Management Training

An opportunity to have some free training, using Zoom, to learn about good practice in managing volunteers. This course is suitable for small voluntary groups or organisations who have volunteers helping them deliver a service to their community in South Copeland.
This basic training courses is aimed at Volunteer Managers or anyone responsible for recruiting, training and supporting volunteers. The session will cover:
- The importance of developing and implementing a Volunteer Vision/Strategy, Volunteer Handbook, Volunteer Policy, Volunteer Role Descriptions and a Volunteer Agreement.
- Understanding volunteer motivation, why people volunteer and what makes a great volunteering experience and journey
- Key principles of effective recruitment, induction, training and support of volunteers, including exit and endings with volunteers
- The importance of recognising and valuing volunteers
- Reflection as your role as a Volunteer Lead and how you can lead and support good practice in volunteer management in your own organisation
Priority bookings will go to organisations operating in the South Copeland area and Cumbria CVS members. Please note a maximum of two places per organisation.
