Furness For You website

With the ambition to be an online support hub to meet the needs of local communities in the Furness area, the furnessforyou.org.uk website focuses on support and services from a wide range of organisations.

It has been a long-held wish of local councillors in the area – from Barrow-in-Furness Borough Council as was and Westmorland & Furness Council as is now – to have one place online that people may go to, to find the support that they need.

The website, funded by the Furness Locality Board, takes its name from the Furness For You partnership, which began in 2023 as a project linking different charity organisations together. The aim of that project was to support communities through tackling social isolation and loneliness and promoting volunteering.

Building on the ethos of the partnership, the online support hub helps to build the idea of “Furness For You” to be a movement to create social connection in Barrow and the Furness area.

If people are looking for a support; if they want to find out about groups, activities or events; or if they would like to help out through volunteering, the website aims to direct people to what they want.
