New colleagues join our management team

Cumbria CVS has welcomed two new colleagues to our management team recently, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to the organisation.
We extend a warm welcome to:
Joanne Tyson – Office Manager
Joanne spent the last 35 years in the Housing and Legal sectors and has led and managed teams and resources for the past 20 years. Her last role was managing stand-alone services for older people, which included responsibility for Staff Management, Income Management, Budget Control, Facilities Management, Training Compliance, Health and Safety and Data Protection.
Holding various qualifications including a Diploma in Business & Finance as well as a Law Degree and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice, Joanne has also recently completed a Leadership Excellence Programme with the Institute of Leadership Management.
Joanne has volunteered in various roles over the last 20 years including as a School Governor, an Advisor with the CAB, a Swimming Teacher and Councillor on the former Barrow Borough Council, and is currently volunteering as a Swimming Coach with Ulverston Otters Swimming Club, and is a Barrow Town Councillor.
David Lockyear – Finance Manager
David moved to Cumbria in April 2022 having spent the previous six years living in Cornwall. He spent a large part of his working life in various Finance/ Commercial roles within the animal feed industry working all over the country.
During his time in Cornwall, David worked for a Marine Conservation Charity (The National Lobster Hatchery) which culminated in him Managing the Charity for two and a half years, including through the pandemic. Outside of work, his time is spent looking after four rescue dogs and two cats.
Along with his wife, David also runs a fundraising group on Facebook raising funds to help dogs & cats around the world.
