Welcome to the team! New starters at Cumbria CVS
March 25, 2022
Cumbria CVS has welcomed more new members to the team over the last few months, all bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to the organisation.
We extend a warm welcome to:
Lisa Brown
Carlisle Community Resilience Worker
Lisa will be working to join up a network of the fantastic community groups that emerged in response to Covid-19, connecting with those already established. The hope is that by creating a strong network for these groups, they feel confident to jump into action if (or when) another emergency hits us. She worked for her own community group as Director of projects and campaigns previously, so has on-the-ground experience of emergency response situations. Lisa also spent many years as an election campaign organiser, so brings a diverse set of skills to the new role.
June Abraham
Third Sector Referral Coordinator (Physical Health)
Qualifying in 1993, June has been a registered nurse for over 20 years and worked across various departments in the acute hospitals in Cumbria. She also held Project roles with the NHS in Cumbria along with Cumbria County Council. June has taken part in service development for people with mobility and sensory impairment working with a number of stakeholders including representatives from the third sector. Her role will see her working to understand and promote the third sector offer within individual NHS ICC communities and to support appropriate and timely referrals to third sector organisations.
Lisa Cox
Administration Officer (Data Management)
Lisa previously worked at BCP Council for ten years, most recently as a Deputyship Officer in Adult Social Care. Prior to that she has worked as a financial underwriter for several private firms. Her new role will see her supporting the Third Sector Referral Coordinator team, researching opportunities, carrying out data management, reporting, and admin duties to help keep the section running smoothly.
We also say farewell to Paula Johnson, who is leaving her role as Lead Key Worker on the Building Better Opportunities, Getting Cumbria to Work programme. Our sincere thanks go to Paula for all her hard work during her time with us, and we wish her all the best for the future.
