Cumbria CVS is currently recruiting a Volunteering for Health Strategic Lead (South Cumbria) for 22.5 hours per week from June 2025-March 2027 to be based in one of our offices (Kendal/Ulverston) although hybrid working is available.
This role is to be the Cumbria CVS Volunteering for Health Strategic Lead (South Cumbria) for the NHS Volunteering for Health Programme and to work in collaboration with the South Cumbria and Lancashire partnership which includes Lancaster Hospital Teaching Trust Charity, Blackburn with Darwen CVS, LACVS, Spring North, and Volunteer Centre Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde.
The role is to develop a strategic approach to enable and embed health and social care volunteering for all volunteer-involving health & care organisations at a place-based level. The role involves establishing a new South Cumbria health and social care volunteering partnership at a ‘place-based’ level, with coordination at the ICB level, connected to VCFSE networks, as well as developing a volunteering strategy.
Working collaboratively with CVS’s across Lancashire this role will support developing new quality standards for volunteer involving organisations across the health system and develop common training programmes for volunteer managers and volunteers, sharing good practice in volunteer management and developing a Volunteering Portal and platform for sharing resources and toolkits.
