Online Community Directory Officer/Furness For You Website Officer (1 year contract in the first instance)
Salary – £26,438 FTE
Part-Time – 25 hours per week (initially 12 months)
Base – flexible working, in terms of both location and hours of work.
There may be occasions when office working will be required at our office base in Barrow or Carlisle.
Overview of job purpose.
We are seeking an Online Community Directory Officer/Furness For You Website Officer to play a vital role in connecting community-led initiatives with services and local authorities. As the central information hub, you will manage online content, ensuring that key information is accurate, coordinated, and up to date on the Online Community Directory/Furness For You Website. Your responsibilities will include collaborating on an efficient information-sharing process, building important connections, and facilitating seamless referrals and networking among local groups, organizations, and services.
Key Duties:
Liaison and Promotion: Promote community initiatives and facilitate connections with services and authorities.
Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders to develop an effective process for sharing information and opportunities.
Relationship Building: Build important connections within the community.
Referrals and Networking: Facilitate seamless referrals and networking among local groups, organizations, and services.
Content Management: Create and oversee online content and maintain accurate information on the community directory and website.
We are looking for a person with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, who can liaise, build, maintain and coordinate positive and effective relationships with diverse stakeholders. Your role will be to translate data and insights gathered from networking efforts into accessible online content. This content will promote engagement opportunities with local voluntary sector organizations.
You will be expected to demonstrate experience working with or supporting local voluntary sector organizations and community groups, have strong IT skills and willingness to learn additional IT skills, including Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems. A successful track record in project management will be highly valued.
You will also need to be prepared for extensive and independent travel across Barrow-In-Furness and surrounding areas.
