What’s the job like?
Getting out and about across Westmorland and Furness is key to this role. As the new Healthwatch engagement officer, on any one day you could be holding a pop-up event with a volunteer in a village hall in the Eden Valley, attending a support group in Penrith, joining a Teams voluntary sector network meeting, or a meeting with a patient participation group in Tebay.
You might meet up with other engagement colleagues and volunteers to carry out an Enter and View visit in Windermere, or head to Barrow or Carlisle for a coffee and a catch-up with the rest of the team. You’ll also take some photos while you’re out and about and post them on our social media, you might write a report, and you will need to record what you’ve been doing so we can meet our targets and log our impact.
It’s exciting and varied, and the chance to make a difference. You can find out more about us here: https://healthwatchwestfurn.co.uk
