The Charity
Space2Create is a charity that works with vulnerable adults suffering with a variety of physical, mental and social issues in the South Lakes. The charity uses all forms of creative activity to support individuals in group social creative activities.
The Position
We’re looking for a dedicated and proactive General Manager to join our growing organisation. This is an opportunity for a highly organised individual to help us raise the bar in how our organisation can help vulnerable people in Kendal and the surrounding area.
This is a part time self employed contract – 15 hrs per week @ £25 per hour. The post will initially be for six months.
Ideally your week will cover five mornings, 0900-1200, but these timings can be negotiated.
Skills & Responsibilities
- Must have solid experience of running third sector projects, you will have a demonstrated track record in the effective running of a busy charity at a high level.
- You will have line managed individuals and groups of staff and volunteers across different working groups.
- Working closely with our Management Committee, you will help to ensure their monthly task lists will be actioned in a timely manner, liaising with our staff, volunteers and third parties to help deliver the very best experience to our participants.
- Where possible, you will attend monthly Management Committee meetings, and other crucial S2C meetings.
- Responsible for ensuring our policies & procedures are up to date and in accordance with the requirements expected of a growing third sector organisation.
- Reliable and adaptable, able to work effectively in changing priorities and circumstances, if needed.
- Effective management of resources.
- Able to source, set up and implement external training sessions and courses for our staff and volunteers from third party organisations and individuals.
- Oversee S2C funding bids with Management committee and fundraising volunteer.
- You will work with our finance team, assisting the Finance Volunteer and Admin with online banking and day to day financial recording.
