Step Forward into Volunteering and Employment Project Launch Event

Step Forward is a brand-new service by North Cumbria Clinical Commission Group (CCG) delivered through the wider NHS Mental Health Transformation Fund, which provides tailored support for people in North Cumbria who are facing challenges from Severe Mental Health Experiences (SMHE). The key aim of this service is to break down the stigma around mental health and importantly, address the barriers faced when it comes to accessing volunteering, work readiness training and work opportunities for those living with SMHE.

This service is a personalised, 1-1 support service, all about and guided by the individual.

And our launch event aims to celebrate the WHO not the what and addressing the HOW not the why – If you would like to find out more, come and join us for a cuppa and chat, coinciding with World Mental Health Day as we introduce you to our team, a range of local mental health key partners and some of our Step Forward Volunteers.

You will get the opportunity to hear what the service is all about, how it works and why it is important – Importantly hearing directly from a member of our team with their own lived experience of poor mental health experiences, who through volunteering has now started as a key member of the Step Forward team.

Together, we will have conversations, where you will get to further understand our aims and how you or someone you know could refer to the service. You will also have the chance to ask any questions that come to mind.

Book your place today and take a Step Forward into understanding more about SMHE and the positive outcomes possible through our support into volunteering and employment.
