Safeguarding Adults at Risk level 1 Training Volunteers

This course is designed to help build understanding of safeguarding duties and responsibilities for volunteers.

This half day course is designed to increase knowledge of how to apply the key principles of safeguarding.

Who is this course for?

This course is aimed at volunteers who are involved in the care and support of someone who could be at risk of harm.

Aims of Safeguarding Adults at Risk level 1

To gain an understanding of the categories of abuse and neglect.

Know how to recognise and respond to allegations and disclosures of abuse.

To explore your role, duties and responsibility to individuals you support.

To be aware of the key safeguarding principles of the Care Act and how this will inform practice.

To be aware of working together and information sharing.

Explore the mental capacity act and safeguarding.

Case studies will be used to explore safeguarding and the Mental Capacity Act will be introduced considering the relevance to safeguarding and upholding individual’s rights to make choices and decisions.

The course will aim to promote confidence in recognising abuse and neglect, raising an alert, recognising poor practice and whistleblowing.

This course is funded through UKSPF and priority bookings will be given to volunteers who volunteer in Westmorland and Furness.

Delivered by Ann Craft Trust in partnership with Cumbria CVS as part of the This Is Us Project in Westmorland & Furness.

Please be aware that delegates name/email will be shared with Ann Craft Trust for the purpose of evaluation, monitoring & certificate of completion .
