This session will focus on the following areas :

• Define motivation and it’s impact on volunteering
• Consider what can motivate volunteers to be involved with your organisation, and how this can change
• Explore how motivational theory can be applied to your volunteer programme
• Use motivations to match and reward volunteers effectively
• Consider the importance of support, supervision, consultation and feedback
• Learn how best to communicate effectively with volunteers
• Become familiar with simple coaching techniques
