Local Government Reorganisation in Cumbria – Update session: Westmorland & Furness

Date:

Time:

Update sessions for local voluntary and community sector organisations.

On 1st April 2023 Cumbria will move away from operating Cumbria County Council and the current six district Councils. The two new Unitary Councils – Cumberland Council, and Westmorland and Furness Council, will be formed and operational.

Elections to the new Councils took place in May, the two new Councils now exist in “shadow” form, working on developing services and priorities before April 2023.

Supporting VCFSE

Cumbria CVS and Cumbria Third Sector Network are organising two online update sessions, where local voluntary and community sector organisations can find out more about the new organisations, their focuses, how services are likely to be delivered in the future, and what that might mean for your organisation and the people you work with.

There will be presentations from the new Councils, a chance to ask questions, and opportunities for discussion in breakout groups.

Each session will focus on one new Council. You can attend one or both sessions.

Cumberland: Thursday 1st September 2022 – 11:00am to 12:30pm

Westmorland and Furness: Wednesday 7th September – 10:30am to 12:00pm (This session)

Sorry – Both events are now fully booked.
