Get into Volunteering with the Lake District National Park!

Lake District National Park Volunteer Information session

Friday 19 March 2021, 10am-11am online via zoom

Could you offer your time and be a volunteer with the Lake District National Park?

Visitor Support Volunteers are needed to work within the wider ‘Safer Lakes’ team to help guide and advise all visitors in some of the busiest places in the Lake District.

150 Visitor Support Volunteers are needed for the following areas:

–              Grasmere and Rydal

–              Coniston

–              Buttermere and Borrowdale

–              Glenridding and Ullswater

–              Keswick to Threlkeld

The Lake District National Park Authority involve a large range of volunteers but currently Visitor Support Volunteers are needed as with the lifting of some of lockdown restrictions from 29 March they are anticipating a large number of tourists visiting the beautiful lake district. Volunteers will help people get the most of their visit to the Lakes, particularly those arriving for the first time. The volunteer role helps protect the landscape, access to our local communities and promotes a more sustainable way of exploring the National Park. The volunteers are part of amazing team of volunteers and will be trained and supported so they have an enjoyable experience when volunteering with the Lake District National Park.

Volunteers need to:

• Be confident and comfortable talking to the public
• Have a passion for the Lake District
• Willing to share enthusiasm and knowledge for the National Park with all visitors.
