Every charity can build a strong board if it invests time and effort in volunteer recruitment and retention. This session will take a look at how Volunteer Managers can help to target and recruit new trustees and board members by better understanding the roles of trustees and what skills are needed, along with developing trustee role descriptions.
It will also look at the importance of understanding your existing board and involving them in general volunteer recruitment.
Bring new volunteers with different skills, experience and knowledge into your organisation! We will also showcase the Twine mobile app – an online data collection tool developed by Power to Change. The insight tool provides small local businesses and charities with the data and insight they need to continuously improve their performance. It enables them to gather data on volunteer activities, amongst other things. Twine empowers local organisations to make evidence-based decisions, and thus serve their communities better.
Come and join us at this bi-annual meeting – share ideas and best practice, and network with others across Cumbria who manage volunteers.
Session facilitated by Judith Smale, County Volunteer Support Officer
