New Development Officer set to support South Copeland voluntary and community organisations

The appointment of a Development Officer will see us providing much-needed support to voluntary and local interest groups covering the area from Millom to Drigg, and out to Eskdale.
Based in Millom, Beresford (Berry) Moyle Rosser will be assisting in grant applications, volunteer recruitment and retention, as well helping to identify potential Trustees and ensuring they are supported in their new roles. Local organisations needing advice on governance or guidance in developing future plans or creating special events will be able to seek assistance.
With a background in hospitality management at an international level, Berry also has a lot of experience in the social sector managing projects in Sussex and Surrey and working with asylum seekers, young people and adults with mental health issues.
To help groups access potential sources of funding, Berry has access to the Grantfinder platform, and will also be able to draw on his knowledge of other local funders. Funding for different needs will be covered – from installing audio equipment in a village hall, upgrading a kitchen or food preparation area to help improve delivery for meals on wheels, or funding for core organisational costs.

This is not only a stunningly beautiful part of the country, but also has amazing people who are self-reliant and passionate about their community, and I want to support them to make a difference”.
