Cumbria CVS has welcomed five new members to the team over the last few months, each bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to the organisation.

All will be based at our Carlisle office, although the continuing need for hybrid working during the ongoing pandemic will mean the new starters using a blend of office and home working as they go through their induction process and start working with colleagues. As for so many people currently, online video meetings will play a big part in their day-to-day interactions as they settle in!

We extend a warm welcome to:

Sophie Crozier
Administration Officer (Digital)

Sophie joins as us a recent graduate from the University of York where she studied languages. She has previous experience with the Home Office and with customer service, and comes from a background that greatly encourages volunteering, which she is keen to do in her spare time.

 

Katharine Dunbar
Finance Officer

Katherine previously worked at Armstrong Watson, a local accountancy practice, for 5 years after retraining and gaining Accountancy qualifications. Prior to that she worked for 17 years in Community Projects / Regeneration for a local Housing Association in West Cumbria.

 

Peter Grenville
Communications Manager

Peter joins us following twelve years with Brathay Trust, where he managed Marketing and Communications for the Ambleside-based charity. He brings a wealth of experience with hands-on website development, managing social media and content creation.

 

Amelia Nicholson
Service Development Manager

Amelia joins us from The National Lottery Community Fund, where she worked in the North East and Cumbria Team. This role provided the opportunity to meet and support an array of community organisations in Cumbria, which inspired her to work on a more local level. Previous roles are rooted within local government where Amelia has a background in service development, fundraising and community support.

 

James Bevis
Service Development Officer

Jim joins us from Hall Conservation, previous to that N-compass /Alzheimer’s Society/ Gaddum Centre/ Autism Initiative. He has worked at all levels of charity services from front line service delivery to senior management as well as a trustee. More recently his work has been focused on business development within the charity sector –  bid writing, service development and strategy.
