We recommend that organisations include training costs in their funding applications, contracts and budgets. However, for those for whom the cost is prohibitive, help may be available.

CVS Training and Events
Where cancellations are made within 14 days of the course date and/or for non attendance, fees paid will not be refundable.
Cancellations made within 7 days of a free course date and/or non attendance will incur a £10 charge with CVS trainers or £40 for external trainers (Food Hygiene, Manual Handling, First Aid).
Where there is a charge for training, the fee paid will not be refundable.
Cumbria CVS is committed to minimising cancellations. However, in the event of a course/event being cancelled, all participants will be notified as soon as possible. Where applicable a full refund will be given and we will endeavour to rearrange the course/event on a date convenient to all.

The Edge is a Cumbria Local Enterprise Partnership project led by Carlisle College offering funded training to businesses and their employees / volunteers so they can secure the skills they need for growth. This includes third sector organisations and social enterprises.
Am I eligible?
- Eligible organisations must have a base in Cumbria and employ less than 250 staff. Those who are self-employed are also eligible for support.
- Employees and volunteers accessing funded training must be aged over 19 years, be resident in England and working or volunteering for more than 8 hours a week.

A range of funded interventions were available across the County from full qualifications to short courses: Carlisle College was working with other Cumbrian Colleges and Training Providers to deliver this project including Age UK Training, Cumbria Adult Education, Furness College, Kendal College and Lakes College.
