An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new role within our support staff team, we are recruiting for;

HR & Officer Manager

37 Hours per week (part time hours considered)

Salary: £30,501 (FTE)  

Based in our Carlisle office but we are flexible in terms of both location and hours.

This is a new role that has been created within the organisation to help ensure the smooth operation of our offices and support functions including HR. You will be working closely with the Finance & Resources Manager and will provide a responsive and engaging HR service across CVS. This role leads the core CVS Administration team and supports project and team managers to build capacity and implement good practice effectively.

Key Duties

  • Support the Finance and Resources Manager with the delivery of HR Strategy and Planning
  • Develop, implement and review HR policies, procedures and processes to ensure these are aligned to current best practice and reflect Cumbria CVS’s core values
  • Positively lead and support the administrative support services team
  • Manage and deliver recruitment, selection, leavers process
  • Embed effective training and development across the organisation
  • Manage and support others in effective delivery of performance management
  • Develop and deliver Mental health & wellbeing initiatives
  • Oversee and ensure effective day to day delivery of office management tasks
  • Liaise with legal advisors on matters regarding building leases
  • Ensure effective administrative support to all Cumbria CVS functions
  • Ensure effective handling of all day to day administrative tasks including training, events, bookings, handling mail, stock control
  • Ensure effective handling of enquiries that will give the nest outcome for Cumbria CVS members
  • Lead on the management of our buildings including appropriate health & safety checks and maintenance planning
  • Any other appropriate duties as specified by line manager, trustees or SMT

What we are looking for

  • a self motivated individual
  • an excellent communicator
  • strong administration and organisation skills
  • experience in a similar role would be desirable
  • CIPD Level 3 or 5 would be desirable or equivalent experience
