This is a network meeting for Volunteer Managers in Cumbria or anyone who is responsible for recruiting, supporting or managing volunteers to come together to spread good practice in volunteer management.

This meeting will bring together Volunteer Managers in Cumbria to look at how to recruit and support young people into Volunteering.

The session aims are:

· How to involve more young volunteers aged from 14-24 years old.

· Understanding good practice in volunteer management to recruit and support young people into volunteering for a positive volunteer journey

· Greater understanding of the barriers to youth volunteering and how we can overcome these

· How to develop new ideas in how to target and recruit more younger volunteer

· Developing and promoting youth volunteering opportunities through the Volunteering in Cumbria portal for under 18’s.

The Duke of Edinburgh Award and Cumbria Youth Alliance will be attending to share best practice of youth volunteering and lesson’s learnt from Helping Hands Evaluation Report on part of this project area in Youth Volunteering.

There will also be an opportunity for other Volunteer Managers to share updates and any issues relating to volunteers and volunteering in Cumbria.

Tea and coffee will be available/registration from 9.45am, the meeting starting promptly at 10am.
