Get on Board and Become a Volunteer Trustee

Virtual Volunteer Trustee Recruitment Session

Cumbria CVS is hosting a Get on Board and Become a Volunteer Trustee Virtual Volunteer Trustee Recruitment Session on Thursday 7 November 2024 from 6.30pm-8pm online via zoom. This event is part of Trustees’ Week 2024 to support organisations in Cumbria looking to recruit new trustees.

Cumbria CVS is inviting 7 organisations that are looking to recruit new trustees to attend this event in order to talk about their organisation, trustee volunteering opportunities (e.g. General trustees, Chair, Treasurer, Secretary), when and where trustee meetings take place, skills needed, etc.

By attending the event potential new trustees will find out more about what a trustee and board member is, the roles and responsibilities of trustees, skills and qualities needed to be a trustee, the range of trustee volunteering opportunities available, when and where volunteers are needed, training and support provided and how individuals can register and apply to become a Volunteer Trustee.

We kindly ask that each organisation that attends to speak no longer than 10 minutes to allow a range of different organisations to attend and speak about the different trustee roles across Cumbria. Each organisation will be given a time slot and welcome to attend for the full event or just their time slot.

Priority bookings will go to Cumbria CVS members and those organisations registered on the Volunteering in Cumbria Portal. Please book by 9 September  where places will be confirmed to allow time for publicity and posters to be produced.

This event is part of our This Is Us project, made possible by Westmorland and Furness Council through funding from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. It is also supported through Bedrock as Cumbria CVS is a delivery partner in the Transforming West Cumbria programme. This programme is funded by Sellafield Ltd and the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) and managed by Cumbria Community Foundation.
