This session is for current trustees only. Not potential trustees.
This is the second session of our Governance Learning programme. It is open to trustees of charitable organisations in Cumbria.
As an existing trustee you should be aware of your legal requirements, roles and responsibilities. Your duty is to ensure that your organisation is being run in accordance with your governing document and the law.
Are you confident that you and your board are compliant and efficient?
In this session, you will:
- Understand the core legal duties of charity trustees, including compliance.
- Recognise the key responsibilities involved in effective governance and collective decision-making.
- Identify gaps or risks in your organisation’s current practices and know how and where to seek further support or guidance.

Eligibility Statement:
This course is exclusively for individuals and organizations within the voluntary sector in Cumbria, this includes charities, community groups, community interest companies, friendly societies, social clubs, many sports clubs, churches and other faith groups, and voluntary organisations.
