Funding from UK Shared Prosperity Fund to help support voluntary organisations

Cumbria CVS are delighted to have been awarded £259,151 by Westmorland and Furness Council from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

With our unique knowledge and experience of supporting the third sector and partnership working, we will deliver this project by recruiting Development and Volunteering Officers. They will provide a person-centred, asset-based approach to volunteering and development, tailored to the needs of individuals and organisations – with a package of continuous support and development opportunities. This project will place local people, and the value they bring, into the heart of their communities, enriching not only themselves but the areas in which they live.

Cumbria CVS Chief Executive, David Allen, said “This funding is a welcome demonstration of support from Westmorland and Furness Council – not just for us but for the many hundreds of voluntary organisations in Cumbria who will benefit from the project. We will be able to increase volunteer numbers and help more organisations to get established and access funding, which in turn will enable them to help people across the authority”.
