Many of you may have worked with our Volunteering Manager, Judith Smale, over the last 23 years. Judith has now reduced her hours and has a focus area of Cumberland in Volunteer Brokerage, supporting organisations with good practice in Volunteer Management and recruiting volunteers.

To support the transition, and to enable local organisations and volunteers to continue to receive sufficient support, a new part-time Volunteering Manager role has been created for Westmorland and Furness, with Caroline Burden starting her new role as of April 2025. Both Volunteering Managers work Tuesday-Thursday.

We also have other CVS staff members who offer Volunteering Support across the county in different projects and areas. Please see this “Meet the volunteering team” attachment.
