Call for volunteers to become Fundraising Champions

Cumbria CVS is recruiting and training a team of Fundraising Champions to place in charitable and community organisations around the County.

The new initiative aims to increase the fundraising expertise of volunteers and staff to help create a more stable third sector in Cumbria. With many charities needing help to support their vital fundraising efforts, even a small commitment of time can make a huge difference for causes.

Volunteers will receive three sessions of fundraising training, alongside a member of staff from their matched organisation, and will benefit from ongoing development support. Potential volunteers are asked to commit for six months and will join the Fundraising Champion Network and attend events and training.

Our Countywide Funding Support Officer, Victoria Peake, said of the new scheme: “We know there are many people who want to make a difference in their community, but don’t know where to start. This is a great opportunity for them to learn new skills and help their host organisation raise vital funds to provide services for their beneficiaries.”
