REPORTS TO: Youth Ambition Lead and Senior Managers
LOCATION: Barrow/ Ulverston/ Millom
CONTRACT: Until March 31st 2026
HOURS: FT – 37 hrs
SALARY: £26,500 – £29,000 with stakeholder pension + mileage allowance + health benefits + 25 days annual leave + bank holidays + optional hybrid working

Role Overview

  • You will work alongside the Forging Futures delivery team to identify training needs for young people on programme. Link in with local and national providers to organise training and development sessions in appropriate venues. Link in with small, medium and large businesses to develop an employer network, promote and organise employer Q&A/ encounter sessions, work tasters and experience days.
  • The successful candidate will also manage a caseload of up to 14 young people. Through both 1-1 work and group sessions helping identify strategies to overcome individual and common barriers inhibiting progress,
    alongside the development of core employability and essential skills. Part of the role will require co-development and delivery of time framed programs with key employers and partners, provide in work and transitional support to young people/ employers and educators.
  • You will have experience delivering one to one support, group activities and confidence building sessions to young people. Have a good understanding of career pathways and how young people’s transferable skills can link to a range of opportunities and sectors.
  • You will be required to keep detailed records of engagement, session hours and contacts.
  • You will work alongside colleagues and external evaluators to develop strong evaluation and reflection processes to ensure effective delivery and data capture to meet key performance indicators, while adhering to
    Cumbria Youth Alliance core values.
  • You will receive ongoing training and support, participate in regular online and in person best practice workshops.
  • You will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
  • Equipment will be supplied to enable you to undertake your role (Mobile Phone, laptop and relevant software).
  • A full clean UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle or reliable/consistent public transport is essential.
