Are you interested in volunteering in your community?

On November 26th, we are taking a group of volunteers to get involved in activities at Harrington Nature Reserve with Workington Nature Partnership.
The nature partnership keeps our green spaces clean and litter-free, preventing harm to the environment and ensuring the public can enjoy our outdoor spaces.
By getting involved in this volunteering event, you will play a key role in keeping a well loved part of Workington clean for the community to enjoy.
This volunteering taster day takes place from 9.30 until 2.30pm but you are welcome to take part for as long as you would like to.

Activities carried out by the nature partnership can include:

•Woodland management
•Planting wildflowers
•Removing invasive species
•Tree planting
•Habitat creation
•Pruning
•Weeding
•Path clearance
•Meadow management
•Surveying
•Making bird boxes and feeding tables
•Repairing handrails and steps
•Improving the flow of rivers and streams
Equipment and instruction will be given and lunch will be provided.
