Volunteer Taster Day- Watchtree Nature Reserve

Join Cumbria CVS at Watchtree Nature Reserve for a Volunteer Taster Day on Wednesday 19th February.

Based just six miles from Carlisle, Watchtree Nature Reserve spans a stunning stretch of the Solway Plain.

Volunteers are a vital asset at Watchtree, they play a key role in the maintenance of its 206 acre estate; the operation of its café and activities at Watchtree Wheelers. Volunteers also play a role in events hosted by the nature reserve.
Watchtree Wheelers provides all of the equipment and support you could need to get out cycling in the traffic-free environment of the nature reserve.

On February 19, Watchtree Nature Reserve will be hosting a Volunteer Taster Day. This is your opportunity to experience a day in the life of a Watchtree volunteer.

Attendees can either get involved with the nature reserve’s estates team or Watchtree Wheelers.

The estates team maintain the nature reserve, carrying out tasks such as: fencing, forestry and basic building maintenance.
Watchtree Wheelers volunteers get to interact with customers and assist with maintenance to keep Watchtree’s fleet of bicycles operational.

The session will be an opportunity to build new skills, make connections and get involved in your community. You will also potentially see some amazing wildlife.

This session will involve practical work outdoors so warm clothing and sturdy shoes are advised.

Volunteers will gather at 9.30am to sign-in and the activities will begin at 10am.
