West Cumbria Volunteering Fair

This event aims to attract the general public to come along and to meet local groups, charities or organisations to find out about local volunteering opportunities and how individuals interested in volunteering can register and become a volunteer.

By attending the event the general public will find out more about which organisations are looking to recruit new volunteers, the wide range of local volunteering opportunities available, when and where volunteers are needed and how to become a volunteer.

First Aid Awareness Training for Volunteers

This training is aimed at volunteers who support local organisations to enhance skills and knowledge. The course will equip them with an understanding of First Aid Awareness and cover a range of content including: responding to common incidents like choking, bleeding and cardiac arrest, the role of a first aider, assessment of incidents, dealing with an unresponsive casualty and dealing with minor injuries. Places will be confirmed after the closing date of 1st September.

Together For Good – Lunch and Learn

Together for Good supports third sector, community groups and non-profit organisations to promote opportunities they have where businesses, via their employees, can provide support on a voluntary basis. The organisations must be delivering benefits directly in West Cumberland (former areas of Allerdale and Copeland) to be able to access the services on the platform.

This event provides a fantastic opportunity for local groups in Westmorland and Furness to directly engage in person with local and national funders and support groups regarding projects/funding requirements, as well as networking with other organisations.

Tickets are free, and attendees can choose to book a morning (10am – noon) or afternoon (1pm – 3pm) slot.

These events are always an opportunity to meet with other people from third sector organisations who have in interest in all things mental health and mental wellbeing in North Cumbria.
