Upcoming Events
What does Devolution in Cumbria mean for your organisation?
The Government has confirmed that Cumbria is in its priority programme of areas for devolution.
But what might devolution mean in practice?
Cumbria CVS and Cumbria Third Sector Network are hosting an online event where you’ll be able to learn more.
Andrew Seekings, Chief Executive Officer, Cumberland Council & Alison Hatcher, Assistant Chief Executive, Westmorland and Furness Council will give a presentation covering:
Carlisle Rural Link and Think: Isolation and Loneliness
A networking and collaborative event aimed at link workers (social prescribers, care-coordinators, carer support coordinators, health and wellbeing coaches for example) and VCFSE (Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise) organisations in the Carlisle Rural/Brampton and Longtown area.
The event will be hosted at Heathlands by the Laurie Brewis Trust and Cumbria CVS, with opportunities to look round the fantastic facilities and day services at Heathlands. Attendees will learn more about the activities and services available in the area, with a focus on those which tackle loneliness and isolation.
Action for Health
Come and join our lively and informative Action for Health event.
These events are always an opportunity to meet with other people from third sector organisations who have in interest in all things health and care in North Cumbria. The events are also a space to hear about the latest developments in relation to health and care and keep up to date with new initiatives, services and projects as they develop.
Can a social prescribing approach tackle health inequalities in North Cumbria: Exploring barriers, challenges and opportunities for link workers and the voluntary sector
A community of practice event for North Cumbria aimed at those working in the social prescribing system either in strategy or delivery. The morning will explore the key role of social prescribing in tackling health inequalities in North Cumbria, whilst the afternoon session will comprise workshops offering practical ways link workers can help break down barriers for people accessing community-based support.
