SOUTH CUMBRIA – Newly appointed South Cumbria Mental Health Partnerships Officer
Hello! I am Steph Mallinson and I am the newly appointed South Cumbria Mental Health Partnerships Officer.
I have lived in West Cumbria for most of my life and have worked for Cumbrian third sector organisations. As a Commissioning Support Officer for the NHS in North Cumbria I particularly enjoyed building collaboration across health, care and VCSE services. I developed the British Red Cross Virtual Ward service and the North Cumbria Green Social Prescribing project. I am looking forward to continuing this work in my new role.
My role is a one year project funded by the Lancashire and South Cumbria ICB Mental Health Transformation Fund. It has been developed to build partnerships and cross sector collaboration to better support the health and wellbeing of people who experience severe mental illness.
I will be working with a range of VCSE organisations, Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust, Westmorland and Furness Council and Lancashire and South Cumbria ICB to support good practice models to involve the third sector in health and care delivery.
To contact Steph, please email – stephanie.mallinson@cumbriacvs.org.uk

SOUTH CUMBRIA NHS area – ADHD North West
ADHD North West are a new service supporting South Cumbria only.
The service aims to empower, improve well-being, increase knowledge, reduce isolation and encourage aspirations for families.
They are based in Great Harwood and would love to hear from you about any spaces/rooms that could be used by our service to offer appointments to families in person.
Being a CIC funds are limited and therefore spaces with little or no cost would be amazing.
Do you hold drop ins or use a one stop shop/hub style model?
They could arrange to attend as a service for families to access.
For more details please contact – Sheena Cunningham sheena.cunningham@adhdnorthwest.org.uk

COUNTYWIDE – Useful & clear information about NEW Cumbria Police Right Care Right Person operating model
The new model relates to police contacts from service providers or members of the general public about concerns for the welfare of a person including:
• people who have walked out of a healthcare setting
• people who are absent without authorised leave from mental health services or any other medical incident.
PLEASE NOTE – POLICE will still respond as usual to concerns about MISSING PEOPLE
What will not change is our response to a call for service where there is a risk to life or of serious harm to a person or a crime is involved or it involves a child, whether that’s to the person in crisis themselves or other people.
Follow the links below for more information for the people you support and/or your staff members.

CUMBERLAND area – Healthwatch Cumberland Small change = big impact!
Healthwatch Cumberland invite you to take part in our Try Dry July campaign.
July is looking to be a super busy month and self-care can quickly be left to the wayside, it can be difficult to make healthy life changes and embed new habits into our busy lives.
Therefore, we are asking you take the #TryDryJuly pledge!
We would like you to join us in making a pledge to incorporate a small, daily change for the month of July (doesn’t need to be alcohol related!) this can be anything from increasing your steps, reducing your screen time, drinking more water or drinking less wine.
The wellbeing topics that we have chosen to focus on are:
- Moving our bodies more,
- Improving eating habits,
- Better sleep hygiene,
- Intentional mindfulness,
- Connecting more,
- Reducing alcohol intake.
All of these have a contributing factor to our everyday health, and small changes to improving them can create a long lasting and profound impact on our lives.
Keep track of your change by committing to our pledge, using our handy 30 days of self-care well-being and mood tracker, sharing your achievements on social media and tagging us in your posts using #TryDryJuly.
We can’t wait to cheer you on😊
