Cumbria Third Sector Network has been the voice of local voluntary and community sector organisations for nearly 15 years. We are currently undertaking a significant refresh of the network structure in order to adapt to recent changes within the third sector and our wider operating environment, and to build on learning from the Coronavirus pandemic.

We appoint an “independent” Chair to lead Cumbria Third Sector Network – someone with a strong interest in the voluntary and community sector and a clear understanding of its strengths and value, but who has no significant conflicts of interest that would compromise their ability to speak on behalf of the sector as a whole.

In practice, this means we are looking for an individual who does not currently work within Cumbria’s third sector, and who does not hold a trustee position in an organisation that receives significant funding from local public sector organisations.

This is an exciting opportunity within Cumbria’s Third Sector, including representing the third sector at the Cumbria Leadership Board alongside local Council Leaders, NHS Chairs and Cumbria’s Police and Crime Commissioner. We are looking for an individual with significant experience of operating at a senior level, who relishes the challenge of leading across a complex system.

We are recruiting our new Chair at an early stage in the process of refreshing Cumbria Third Sector Network so that the successful candidate can help us to shape our structures and culture as we move forwards.

This is an unpaid, voluntary position, but reasonable expenses will be paid for work undertaken on behalf of the Network. Depending upon circumstances, this could include costs such as travel expenses, childcare costs and IT.

Interviews
Interviews will be held on Tuesday 27 July 2021 and Tuesday 3 August 2021.
