Salary: £27,507 – £29,190 FTE
Hours: 15 hours per week
Contract: Fixed term until 28 February 2026
Location: Kendal or Ulverston office (hybrid working available with travel across Westmorland & Furness)

Overview
Are you passionate about strengthening local communities and supporting the voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) sector?
Cumbria CVS is seeking a motivated and relationship-focused Development Officer to deliver targeted support to VCFSE organisations across Westmorland and Furness, as part of the This is Us project.
In this role, you’ll work closely with local groups to help them build resilience, increase capacity, strengthen governance, and access funding—ultimately contributing to healthier, more inclusive communities.

Key Duties

  • Provide 1:1 tailored support to local VCFSE organisations
  • Offer guidance on governance, business planning, funding, and project evaluation
  • Support and attend training sessions, workshops, and networking events
  • Facilitate collaboration between community groups, statutory agencies, and businesses
  • Help organise and deliver training and learning opportunities
  • Contribute to impact reporting and evaluation for the This is Us project

We’re looking for someone with a solid understanding of the VCFSE sector and experience supporting community-based organisations.

You’ll be confident offering guidance around governance, funding, planning, and partnership development. Just as importantly, you’ll enjoy building relationships and working collaboratively to help organisations grow and thrive.
