About the role

 As a Development Officer you will work with local voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise organisations helping them to grow stronger, more skilled and more sustainable as well as support with the forging of partnerships. You’ll provide practical guidance on governance, funding, planning and volunteer management, while helping groups connect, collaborate and influence wider partnerships like Team Barrow. It’s a hands‑on role at the heart of community development, empowering organisations to make a bigger impact.

Key responsibilities include 

  • Providing hands‑on support with governance, business planning, funding, and volunteer management
  • Helping local organisations collaborate, network, and build long‑term resilience
  • Delivering training, events, and practical development opportunities
  • Championing the VCFSE sector within Team Barrow, ensuring local voices are heard
  • Working closely with colleagues across Cumbria CVS to drive shared goals
